Rotations
This 1-month elective rotation is designed for senior medical students who have decided on a career in Emergency Medicine and wish to gain in-depth experience in the evaluation and management of critically ill medical and trauma patient. The rotation consists of twelve 8-hour clinical shifts in the UMC Emergency Department and specialty shifts in EMS and Ultrasound. Weekly didactics, skills stations and simulation labs provide students with the ability to increase their knowledge base and procedural acumen.

This 1-month mandatory rotation is a combination of Emergency Medicine, Intensive Care, and Medical Simulation and is only available to senior LSU medical students. This rotation is designed to provide senior medical students with a solid foundation in the principles of emergency medicine and the skills necessary to assist in the event of an emergency.
This rotation is scheduled by the LSU Student Affairs office.
This 2-week mandatory rotation is designed to be useful for all senior students, regardless of what specialty they intend to pursue. Our aim is to provide you with the tools necessary to quickly recognize and assess the undifferentiated critically ill patient, and teach you practical skills to assist in the event of an emergency.

This 1-month mandatory rotation is intended as an introduction to Emergency Medicine and is available to LSU-NO Physician Assistant students.
